World population prediction for 2050 From 1950 to 2010, the world population increased from 2.5 billion to 6.9 billion(174% increase) . The global population is expected to increase from 6.9 billion in 2010 to 9.6 billion in 2050(38% increase). India will become the world most populous country before 2050, moving ahead of China and Sub Saharan Africa.
